What is this?
Kats Conf 2 is a conference taking place in Dublin, Ireland on Saturday February 18th. As a one-day, single track conference, our goal is to present top-notch talks. There will also be several workshops the evening before the conference proper where you can learn some fun stuff about Scala, Erlang or how to be an effective ally
Is Kats Conf 2 for me?
We certainly hope so! We want you to have a great time and to learn about functional programming. We want our conference to be as accessible as we can possibly make it to a broad variety of people whether they be student, seasoned veteran or tinkerer.
You can’t learn something you already know, so if you’re worried that things will go over your head, remember that not a single person in attendance will know everything that is presented. One of the best things about attending a conference is exposure to completely new concepts. You may not use them immediately, but when next you are faced with a problem to solve, who knows, maybe a good solution is one that you just heard of.
Can I give a talk?
Totally! We are currently soliciting proposals for talks. Most full length talks are curated, but there are some submission slots available if you’re an experienced speaker. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
How much are tickets?
Tickets are currently on sale for €150. If you belong to an underrepresented group, please feel free to purchase a discounted student/diversity ticket. Also, if you successfully submit a lightning talk, you are entitled to free admission!
I have a question!
Hope to see you there!
